Background
A couple years ago, I was applying to a job listing. The employer requested me to do two design proposals in almost no time 😰 This is second design tests I had to turn a week after. Plus, I still had to keep up with my job from 9 to 5.
Challenge Accepted. Again.
Understanding the problem
The requirement was basically to design a school platform for parents so they could track their children’s assignments, important dates and more. Total creative direction; web version for desktop and mobile. Didn’t get any data nor information 😢
The first step I did was to question what a user (a parent) would do in a platform like this. What tasks is he/she/they are going to perform? Things like checking their kid’s grades or how to reach out teachers.
Process
It had been a while since I designed something for children, so I decided to go on with something colorful, friendly, but at the same time balanced and clean. Color for this project is very important. Sight is one of the most stimulant senses a child (or a human) can experience in a very early age.
I thought: the idea of having certain characters such as animals could work as a visual support leading to a friendly and easy experience.
